OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS, I have attended a number of very worthwhile conferences, workshops, and seminars from some of the biggest names in the motivational/inspirational industry – Tony Robbins, James Arthur Ray, Cheryl Richardson, and Christiane Northrup (to name a few.)

I’ve also bought my share of motivational/inspirational books, CDs and DVDs from names you may recognize  including Louise Hay, Carolyn Myss, and Dr. Wayne Dyer.

Each of these individuals has helped inspire me in one way or another.

Today, I can now officially add ANOTHER NAME to this list of inspiring people. His name is Sean Barrette and he has just released his first CD called Live Through This.

I worked with Sean nearly a decade ago, when we both had positions at Q92-FM, and EZ Rock in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. He was an on-air announcer and the station’s music director. I was fulfilling a one-year contract writing radio commercials.

In those days, although he had a great voice, he DID NOT know how to PLAY A GUITAR.  However, life lessons and a passion for music moved him in a direction he felt compelled to follow.

He learned how to play the guitar and he started writing songs. He wrote lots and lots of songs. Sean wrote FOR YEARS before he even allowed himself to call himself a SONGWRITER.

Once he admitted his own talent TO HIMSELF, there was just no stopping the natural flow of creativity. With the full support of his wonderful wife, Sean went for it.

As is always the case when you’re doing the RIGHT THING, the Universe supplies you with all the support and assistance you need. People start showing up and offering their help. Doors open that you didn’t know were there.

For Sean, the result is his first CD (and I have no doubt that this will be the first of many.)

So, from one writer to another – CONGRATULATIONS Sean, you are an INSPIRATION to us all.

  1. I am without words. And that, as Colleen can attest, is very, very rare. 🙂

To be included in that list of people is flattering. I’ve read them and admire them.

But to rediscover a friend and find you are a vibrational match walking the same path, does more to reaffirm my faith in the Universe than any word on a page could. Magic.

    Thanks, Colleen.

    • I wholeheartedly agree. The magic has just begun, my friend. I believe there are a lot of us out there – walking our path, trying to make a difference (for ourselves and for others) – and we will all meet each other in the next few years. Keep doing what you’re doing….
